Naoki Hamaguchi, the director on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, has revealed during an interview with YouTube channel Final Fantasy Union that Square Enix has set a goal for his team to “finish [the remake trilogy] off and make it the best experience it possibly can [be]” with the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is currently in development at Square Enix and is targeting a 2027 release date, although nothing has been set in stone yet. The team recently revealed that the game’s basic story is now set, and confirmed that players will be able to freely navigate the map using the Highwind Airship.
