Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Won’t Feature Vincent Valentine As A Playable Character

The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth development team have confirmed to Game Informer that Vincent Valentine won’t be playable in the upcoming PS5 sequel, although he’ll still make an appearance in the game as a companion like Red XIII in FFVII Remake.

Vincent appeared in the State of Play trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth last week, and obviously got a lot of fans excited about the prospect of him being playable. However, Tetsuya Nomura confirmed this won’t be the case, although he will pop up as part of the game’s story.

For those unaware, Vincent was an optional character in the original Final Fantasy VII PSOne game, and he can be found in the basement of the Shinra mansion in Nibelheim. He wields guns in combat, and is able to transform into various creatures as part of his Limit Break.
