Square Enix has unleashed an extended gameplay trailer for Final Fantasy VII Revelation to close out Sony’s State of Play broadcast today.
This latest look at the upcoming RPG sequel highlights the airship navigation mechanic that is being added to Revelation, where players will freely explore the open-world before landing at areas of interest, including locations you’ve previously visited in the previous games. Furthermore, we also get a look at Yuffie’s hometown of Wutai, which is gripped by fear of war with Shinra, as well as a glimpse at the towering Ruby Weapon.
We also get to see Cid and Vincent in action, who officially join the party as playable characters after their story-based cameos in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Speaking of your party, Square Enix confirmed that you can switch seamlessly between characters whenever you wish. Check out the footage below.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled to ship for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S on April 8, 2027.
