The director on Final Fantasy VII Revelation has revealed that the game will run at 4K resolution at 60 FPS on the PS5 Pro, which is all thanks to the implementation of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR).
Speaking in a post on X, Naoki Hamaguchi stated that he believes the PS5 Pro version will be “one of the recommended ways” to play the game due to its performance capabilities.
On PS5 Pro, by leveraging PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), we have implemented a mode that delivers both 4K image quality and 60 FPS gameplay. For players who want to enjoy REVELATION with both enhanced visual fidelity and smooth performance, I believe PS5 Pro will be one of the recommended ways to experience the game.
Speaking during an interview with GameSpot recently, Hamaguchi-san revealed that the game can “easily” take players around 100 hours to complete, providing they dive into everything on offer. The game director also revealed that one of the changes to FFVII Revelation will come in the form of an option to allow players to skip grinding by raising their characters to the recommended level.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is the third and final entry in the remake project, and sees Cloud and his companions continuing their pursuit of Sephiroth while dealing with the ominous threat of Meteor. Not only that, but the all-powerful WEAPONs are now on the rampage, having been awakened by the planet in times of crisis. The game launches for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S on April 8, 2027.
