Final Fantasy VII Revelation Players Will Need Multiple Playthroughs To See Everything The Game Has To Offer

Those of you looking to squeeze everything out of Final Fantasy VII Revelation will unsurprisingly have to be prepared to put the hours in, as director Naoki Hamaguchi has revealed you’ll have to play through the game multiple times to experience all it has to offer.

You may recall that Hamaguchi-san previously stated that Final Fantasy VII Revelation could “easily” take players 100 hours if you want to get everything out of it, but that appears just to be in terms of content such as side quests and everything you can do outside of the main story. However, to see everything on offer requires multiple playthroughs, as there is dialogue that can be missed depending on what character you have in a particular quest.

Speaking with IGN, Hamaguchi commented, “we have prepared many cases where it changes not just whose perspective the quest is told from, but the story experience, the gameplay experience, and even the conclusion.” He added that a full playthrough of the game is expected to take about the amount of time as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, “But there’s also a lot you can’t experience in a single playthrough,” he added, “so in that sense, I think it probably exceeds Rebirth.”

Hamaguchi has been busy chatting about FFVII Revelation over the past month or so, what with the game getting showings at both GamesCom and Tokyo Game Show. Among the details revealed include confirmation of an option to allow players to raise their characters to the recommended level to skip grinding, as well as clarification as to why the physical version of FFVII Revelation requires a download to play.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation launches on April 8, 2027 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.
