Japan’s Shonen Jump magazine has smuggled a rather tasty batch of Final Fantasy XIII screenshots out of Square-Enix HQ for its latest issue, and we’ve got them here for you to tuck into, courtesy of finalfantasy-xiii.net.
Seen below, the scans depict fresh shots of both Lightning and her female sidekick (who’s identity remains a mystery at this point), along with a couple of shots of the game’s battle sequences — a welcome change from Square’s typical onslaught of character mug shots and sweeping landscapes, we think you’ll agree.

Final Fantasy XIII is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2009.
