It has been announced on The Lodestone that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will see a special Valentine’s Day quest, as well as the revival of an event to mark the upcoming Western release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
Valentine’s Day is known as Valentione’s Day in the game’s setting of Eorzea. The specifics of the special quest are unclear, but it’s known that participants will be rewarded with unique items and gear. The event will run from Tuesday, February 4 at 8:00 to Monday, February 17 at 14:59 (GMT), and can be initiated by talking to Larsonient on Limsa Lominsa’s Upper Deck.

The Lightning Returns event will be exactly the same as the one that ran last November. It involved Lightning appearing in Eorzea and a series of FATEs against beasts from Final Fantasy XIII. It will last from Tuesday, February 4 at 8:00 to Monday, February 24 at 14:59 (GMT), although the individual chapters of the event will run at specific times.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently hosting two special events tying into its sister games Final Fantasy XI and Dragon Quest X.
