Final Fantasy XIV Update 6.5 Is Titled Growing Light And Is Due Out In October 2023

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV Update 6.5, known as Growing Light, will launch in early October 2023.

The MMORPG’s latest update will come in two parts and establish the narrative ahead of the launch of Downtrail in Summer 2024, which is the next major expansion for the game.

Final Fantasy XIV Growing Light will include new quests and the Duty Support system will now allow players to enjoy all duties from A Realm Reborn through to the end of Endwalker solo. In addition, the free trial will now include Stormblood in update 6.5, which gives players access to a major chunk of the game for free to test the waters.

In terms of new quests, players can expect update 6.5 to introduce new main story missions, extra Tribal Alliance quests, Maderville weapons, Splendorous Tools, while Tataru’s Grand Endeavour and Hildibrand’s Adventures will both be continued further.

Meanwhile, the Island Sanctuary will benefit from additional ranks and visions, a new gathering area, and more crops. Expect more animals too, including Final Fantasy’s iconic Morbol, which is the lumbering tentacled beast with bad breath.
