Today is the day. Final Fantasy XV is finally here, and Square Enix has released a new launch trailer called “Ride Together,” featuring the song Fast Lane by hip-hop duo Bad Meets Evil (rappers Eminem and Royce da 5’9").
Game Director Hajime Tabata stated in a recent press release that “Final Fantasy has a special place in the hearts of many and the team who worked long and hard on this project couldn’t be prouder to present Final Fantasy XV to fans around the world.
“Today, we invite not only longtime fans, but a new generation of gamers to a series beloved thanks to the engaging story telling, unique characters and captivating worlds that have become the hallmark of Final Fantasy over the years.”
Final Fantasy XV has been in development for over a decade, originally announced as Final Fantasy Versus XIII at E3 2006.
Unfortunately, the title went through several delays as Final Fantasy XIII became its own trilogy. Thus, Versus XIII was officially renamed as Final Fantasy XV later in 2013.
