Shortly after the latest trailer for Final Fantasy XVI was revealed during the June 2022 Sony State Of Play, producer Naoki Yoshida and director Hiroshi Takai took to the game’s official Twitter account to each deliver a message to fans.
Both Takai and Yoshida thanked fans for their patience, many felt it had been quite some time with any news whatsoever from Square Enix’s highly anticipated title.
Interestingly, and on an exciting note for fans, Takai remarked that the game is “fully playable from start to finish”, though of course there is plenty of polishing that needs to be done.
“As for development progress, I’m happy to announce that the game is fully playable from start to finish;” said Takai, “though, from optimization to brush-up, there is still a mountain of challenges to tackle as we head into our final push.”
Hopefully, fans can expect to see more from Final Fantasy XVI before the end of the year as was promised, though since the release window has it at Summer 2023, it could be possible that it’s not until 2023 that we see more news come.
