One of the first games with PlayStation Move support will be Flight Control HD, slated for release on the PlayStation Network on Sept. 15. The game, developed by Firemint, will put players in the role of an air traffic controller in charge of a busy airport. Players will direct aircraft to landing zones while avoiding collisions.
The game will feature single-player and multiplayer modes for up to four people. In the multiplayer mode, new players can drop-in and drop-out of games while aircraft continue to arrive.
“Multiplayer is insanely fun, you can never be quite sure whether a new player is going to help or hinder your efforts so there tends to be a lot of laughing and jeering,” commented Firemint’s CEO, Rob Murray in a press release. “It’s turned Flight Control HD into an extremely social game.”
Flight Control HD features retro graphics in 1080p resolution. In addition, the game will support an option stereoscopic 3D mode throughout the game, giving the effect that aircraft is floating over the landscape
The game can be played using the DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller, SIXAXIS Wireless Controller of the Move motion controller with the PlayStation Eye. You will not need Move’s navigation controller to play. You can use any combination of controllers in multiplayer modes.
Look for flight Control HD on Sept. 15 in the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia, and Oct. 21 in Japan. We are checking in with the studio to see if and when the game will be released in North America.
