Football Manager 2023 Is Kicking Off For PS5 On November 8

The Football Manager series has traditionally skipped PlayStation consoles, but the official release date trailer for Football Manager 2023 has today confirmed that the game is heading to PS5 on November 8.

That’s about all we know so far on the game, as the trailer doesn’t really give us any concrete information other than the fact it’s also coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. Still, this is a big thing for fans, as it’s the first PlayStation console port for the franchise ever.

The Football Manager series originally started out life as Championship Manager back in the early 90s, although developer Sports Interactive and Eidos Interactive split in 2004. While Sports Interactive retained the rights to the source code, they did not acquire the rights to the Championship Manager title, and therefore renamed the brand Football Manager.

As such, 2004’s Football Manager 2005 was the first game to emerge after the rebranding of the Championship Manager franchise.
