CVG’s revealed that Gareth Wilson, former design manager at the now-defunct Bizarre Creations, has been snapped up by UK-based studio Sumo Digital.
Bizarre Creations closed its doors last Friday after 17 years in the business. Wilson served as lead designer on a number of company’s biggest IPs, including Project Gotham Racing and Blur.
Wilson’s now hopped into the role of chief games designer for Sumo, who themselves have been responsible for the likes of Sega All-Stars Racing, Outrun Online Arcade, and Split/Second: High Voltage.
Good news as far as we’re concerned, though it’s still a crying shame no one was able to snap up Bizarre to spare the celebrated studio of its fate all the same.
