The upcoming PS5 version of Playground Games‘ Forza Horizon 5 will require a Microsoft account to play, a new PlayStation Network FAQ (via Does It Play) has confirmed.

Yes, in addition to a PSN account you’ll need to link to a Microsoft account in order to play Forza Horizon 5 on PS5. This process begins the first time you start up the game on your console.

Naturally a lot of folk aren’t happy about the need for a Microsoft account to play a PS5 game, and Playground Games has already left a bitter taste in people’s mouths already due to it confirming there are no current plans for a physical version of Forza Horizon 5.
Having said that, people are obviously keen to pick the game up digitally, as Forza Horizon 5 has already topped the PlayStation Store charts in numerous regions since preorders went live.
