Four new Red Dead Redemption DLC packs revealed

Rockstar has lifted the lid on four all-new downloadable content packs for its critically acclaimed Wild West romp, Red Dead Redemption.

Due out on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Marketplace from next month, things kick off with Legends and Killers, which throws in nine new multiplayer maps, eight new multiplayer characters, as well as a Tomahawk weapon for both the single player campaign and multiplayer.

Next up is the Liars and Cheaters pack, which allows gamers to take part in the competitive multiplayer offering ‘Attack and Defend,’ fresh horse races (including mounted combat) and the chance to “play as the heroes and villains of Red Dead Redemption,” with an additional eight multiplayer characters. In addition, the DLC pack also chucks in a brand new weapon – the Explosive Rifle – and multiplayer variations of poker and Liars Dice.

Following this is the Free Roam Pack, which includes “additional Free Roam challenges,” extra defensive placements and action areas, posse scoring, leaderboards and anti-griefing features.

Last up is the Undead Nightmare, allowing gamers access to “Brand new single-player adventure, challenges and quests,” eight zombie multiplayer skins, “additional animals unleashed in the world,” and more.

Each DLC pack will set you back $9.99 USD (or 800 Microsoft Points if you’re buying it for Xbox 360), and comes complete with fresh Trophies/Achievements to unlock.

Sam Houser, co-founder of Rockstar, commented, “We want to continue to provide Red Dead Redemption’s fans with a steady supply of innovative new content,” adding, “Our goal is to continue to pack as much entertaining gameplay and as many surprises as we can into the massive world of Red Dead Redemption over the coming months.”

Legends and Killers should be out at the beginning of August, though the other packs have yet to attract a release date. Stay tuned for more information as we get it.
