Friday the 13th The Game didn’t have the best of starts when it first launched back in May 2017 with its rocky servers, and now it looks like the server issues are back to plague us.
Having launched for free for PlayStation Plus subscribers last this week, there’s a good chunk of reports from players not being able to get into an online game, specifically in the UK. The “Checking Session for Room” error is the most frequent report.

The survival horror game has suffered stability and performance issues regularly since launch. In February, developer IllFonic said it would be addressing the problems by upgrading the game to a newer version of the Unreal Engine, ready to move across to dedicated servers.
The dedicated servers were rolled out on PS4 in September. However, the new influx of players this week appears to have caused problems with players connecting to the Friday the 13th The Game servers.
Neither Illfonic had publisher Gun Media have passed comment. We presume things will settle down in a few days after the influx of new downloads (and people giving up trying to connect).
