Gun Media has announced a slew of free updates for Friday the 13th: The Game on PlayStation 4, including a retro-flavored Jason skin.
Leading the charge is an additional 13,000 Customisation Points, which will be added to user accounts to purchase some extra upgrades and Jason kills. In addition, there’s a Double XP event kicking off this weekend from June 23 – June 25, and the team has also fixed an exploit issue that allow sneaky gamers to access areas that should be walled off.

Finally, the new Retro Jason skin will be made available free to all players, giving the teen-killing juggernaut a more classic look. In addition, new music has also been added for when the masked killer makes an appearance around Camp Crystal Lake, and Jason also comes equipped with a brand new kill move to boot.
All of the above content will be made available on the latest Friday the 13th update from today.
Friday the 13th: The Game was released a few weeks back but was plagued by a number of server issues, with Gun Studios underestimating the number of players flocking to the game on launch day. Matchmaking also became a serious problem, with gamers forced to endure lengthy waiting times and frequent disconnections. Fortunately, the studio fixed many of these problems in update 1.04.
Based on the popular slasher film series from Paramount Pictures, the survival horror title sees seven Camp Crystal Lake counsellors attempting to survive against the inexorable teen-killer Jason, with the game set in a semi-open world that offers plenty of exploration. Friday the 13th was funded via Kickstarter and BackerKit, becoming the 124th most successful crowdfunded project of all time.
