The Friday the 13th: The Game release date has been confirmed by Gun Media and IllFonic. Starring horror film icon Jason Voorhes, the upcoming survival horror game will release on PS4, Xbox and PC simultaneously in May.
Starting off live with a Kickstarter campaign, and formerly named Summer Camp, the multiplayer only game features seven camp counselors who head to Crystal Lake, Higgins Haven and Packanack Lodge hoping for the ideal vacation.
Things don’t go to plan when mass murderer Jason Voorhes turns up on the scene armed with an axe and a variety of special skills including:
- Morph
- Sense
- Rage
- Shift
Players can control either Jason in the hunt to kill the camp counsellors or one of the counselors looking to escape from Crystal Lake.
The Friday the 13th brutal kills trailer has already given us a taste of what’s to come, while the gameplay video from the closed beta gives us a closer look at the game in action.To announce the release, Gun Media has also launched a new Friday the 13th: The Game trailer.
