Gamescom 2011: New FIFA Street coming in early 2012

EA Sports announced today at Gamescom that it will release an all new FIFA Street in early 2012. The game is in development from EA Canada in Vancouver, the same team that makes FIFA.

Street will bring an entirely different element of style to the FIFA catalog, with more free-flowing gameplay and an authentic approach to the back alleys of football. The development team sent researchers around the world to learn how different regions play the sport. For instance, the sport in the U.K. is more physical, while Rio plays with a bit more flair.

The game will take FIFA 12’s all new player impact and precision dribbling mechanics, but it will add a new street ball control system that replicates quicker touches, and it will include twice as many skill moves. You’ll play in locations like London, Tokyo, and Barcelona. Look for announcements on social modes later. The game will also be connected to EA Sports Football Club.

Look for a total of 35 locations, one-on-one battles in parking lots and parks, and 5v5 tournaments on the streets.

Stay tuned for more details.
