Gamescom 2021 Confirms Publisher Lineup, Includes Activision, Bandai Namco Games, EA, Sega And More

Organisers for Gamescom 2021, which is a digital-only event taking place towards the end of August, have confirmed that heavyweights including Activision, Bandai Namco Games, Electronic Arts, and SEGA will be among the publishers participating in the event.

The full lineup consists of 505 Games, Activision, Aerosoft, Assemble Entertainment, Astragon Entertainment, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Electronic Arts, Gamevil Com2us Europe, Headup, Indie Arena Booth, Koch Media, NExT Studios (Tencent Games), Sega Europe, Team17, Thunderful Games, Ubisoft, Wargaming, and Xbox.

Once again, Geoff Keighley will be kicking things off with Gamescom Opening Night Live, which takes place on August 25, followed by the main event on August 26 and August 27.

While it had been reported this year’s Gamescom would be a combination of digital and physical events, this idea was abandoned in favour of going digital-only due to restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Koelnmesse’s COO, Oliver Krese, commented:

Especially in view of the challenges for game production during the Corona pandemic and the much shorter preparation times of a digital event, we’re very delighted about the very impressive list of gamescom partners who are already confirmed.

With this, the purely digital gamescom with its shows and innovations underlines its great value for the industry and the worldwide gaming community. Together with already confirmed and continuously joining partners, we will continue to bring an exciting and eventful program to millions of gaming fans worldwide in 2021.

In addition to showings from the major publishers mentioned above, Gamescom 2021 will also feature 80 “curated top indie titles” to complement the lineup.
