Gaze in awe at Deep Down trailer, gorgeous Capcom RPG coming to PS4

Of all the games showcased during last night’s PlayStation 4 reveal, Capcom’s Deep Down (working title) sticks out in our minds. The game’s grungy, medieval setting was markedly different than anything else showcased during Sony’s PlayStation Meeting, and even called to mind memories of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls.

Judge these similarities by checking out the trailer below.

Deep Down–which could be a sequel to Dragon’s Dogma–runs on a brand new engine for PS4 codenamed "Panta Rhei." At the very least, Deep Down looks similar to Dragon’s Dogma in tone, with medieval knights facing off against highly detailed dragons. Whether this is a sequel to Capcom’s PS3 open-world RPG is unknown, but the fact that Deep Down is only a working title raises that possibility.

The gameplay shown in the trailer above seems to be running in real-time (note the inventory screen in the bottom right-hand corner). With PS4’s social capabilities in the mix, we could all end up involved in one big group dungeon quest. Give us your thoughts on the trailer in the comments below, and stay glued to PSU.com for more on Deep Down and other PS4 games and details.
