Gearbox Software has released a new gameplay trailer showing off the technical prowess of Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway’s destructible cover. No longer will enemies be safe behind wooden fences or sand bag walls as simple machine gun fire or the toss of a grenade will obliterate anything standing inbetween you and your enemy.
Check out the trailer below:
IGN reports that the developers at Gearbox Software did run into some obstacles when adding destructible surfaces to the game.
"It forced AI programmers to create code so enemy and friendly soldiers alike will know when their cover has been torn down and to move to a fresh piece. Then there’s the physics engine which needed to be re-worked to allow for the massive amount of particles that a splintering wooden fence creates while still keeping the rest of the on-screen action fluid and realistic."
From the looks of it, Gearbox has done a great job and we are eager to get our hands on this title when it ships in August.
