Two voice actors involved with miHoYo‘s Genshin Impact have revealed they are still waiting to be paid for their work months after recording sessions.
Corina Boettger and Brandon Winckler took to social media to revealed they have still not been paid for their work, with Boettger revealing they’re waiting for payment from sessions dating back to December 2022 and Winckler saying he’s waiting for as much as 4-8 months for payment.
Winkckler said:
It’s really hard to justify working on something for the sake of work when you can’t afford to eat. Many non-union productions have this problem, I’ve waited anywhere from 4-8 months for payment, and even then, it isn’t much to ask. 1000 here, 500 there, and it adds up fast.
At the time of writing HoYoverse hasn’t issued an official statement, and Winckler said that he sent five emails regarding payment and has yet to receive a response, though noted this isn’t uncommon in non-union productions.
