Sucker Punch Productions has revealed that Ghost of Tsushima will boast a three regions to explore within the highly anticipated samurai title, as well as over 40 ‘diverse biomes’ spread throughout the open-world.
New Ghost Of Tsushima Details Revealed
Speaking during a post on the PlayStation Blog, the game’s environment art lead, Joanna Wang, revealed that the development team visited Tsushima multiple times during production, describing it as a ‘beautiful place crowded with mountains and dense forests.’
Naturally, Ghost of Tsushima’s depiction of the island isn’t a 1:1 recreation, but rather, a ‘love letter to all of its parts,’ says Wang.
Ghost of Tsushima is by far the biggest game we have ever made. The map is divided into three regions filled with more than forty diverse Biomes and hundreds of points of interest. Our goal when building an open world game is always “if you can see it, you can reach it,” with as few exceptions as possible.
You will journey through lush forests, cross boggy swamp lands, and enter into frozen mountainous landscapes. We collected so many references from movies, games, paintings, and even travel posters to draw inspiration. We want to present you with an authentic, believable world, a world that would call out to you, inviting you to explore, a world that is rich and full of surprises.
Ghost of Tsushima is slated for release exclusively for PS4 on July 17, and preloading is now available for those who have pre-ordered the digital version of the game.
