Deadline has reported that a Ghost Of Tsushima Movie is in development at Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions, with John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski onboard to direct the film.
Stahelski will be joined by Alex Young and Jason Spitz who will produce through their company 87Eleven, with Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan producing on the PlayStation Side. Qizilbash offered a statement on the film’s announcement to Deadline:
“We’re excited to be partnering with Chad and 87Eleven Entertainment, to bring their vision of Jin’s story to the big screen. We love working with creative partners like Chad, who have a passion for our games, ensuring we can create rich adaptations that will excite our fans and new audiences.”
Stahelski is about to start shooting John Wick 4, so this film will likely be his next project after that. Qizilbash also seemingly confirms that the movie will follow the game and tell Jin’s story.
Overall, this is huge news and aside from The Last of Us TV Show, this is the most exciting announcement from PlayStation Productions so far. What are your thoughts?
