Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Wildlands is reportedly getting the Definitive Edition treatment for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and what’s more, it is apparently going to feature new content.
An image that circulated on the Ghost Recon Wildlands reddit has since started doing the rounds online, and reveals that the re-release of the 2017 tactical shooter will feature a new mission and support for 60 FPS and 4K resolution. Keep in mind that nothing official has been announced by Ubisoft yet, so treat this with a pinch of salt for the time being
Ghost Recon Wildlands was originally released for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One in March 2017. Unlike the futuristic setting of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Wildlands is set in a setting that is closer to the original Ghost Recon, and at the time was one of the biggest open worlds that Ubisoft had developed. Players control members of Delta Company, First Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, aka Ghosts, and due to the contemporary setting uses weapons and gear commonly employed worldwide by military forces.
The open world features a variety of different environments including forests, salt flats, mountains, deserts and more, with players given a lot of freedom in regards to approaching missions as a result. For example, you can deploy via chopper or on land, and team up with up to three other players during the campaign to tackle missions cooperatively. One of the key components in Wildlands is observing enemy territory before embarking on a mission in order to better plan a course for your objectives.
