Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) (via IGN) has announced that the creative director behind God of War III has departed Sony Santa Monica.
Stig Asmussen joined the first-party studio back in 2003, and worked on some of PlayStation’s most iconic games: God of War (2005), God of War II (2007) and God of War III (2010).
In addition, he was also believed to have a crucial role in Santa Monica Studio’s now-cancelled new IP.
Asmussen’s departure comes in light of a number of layoffs to hit the God of War developer, and also resulting in the scrapping of its new project mentioned above.
Sony did confirm, however, that Asmussen is currently interviewing at several job opportunities.
