Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that God of War Laufey will launch for PS5 on February 16, 2027.
This latest entry in the God of War series focuses on Kratos’ wife, Faye (Laufey), and take place simultaneously with God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok in a new realm now has Everywhen, which is a form of afterlife for the gods. Following her death at the beginning of God of War, Faye awakens in this transcendent realm and attempts to continue the plans that she put in place to protect her family. Along the way, she teams with Phranque, a cosmic cube, and an enchanted ribbon named Rue. While the game features themes of Norse mythology, it also introduces Egyptian and Mongolian mythology into the mix.
Faye is an able combatant that specialises in mobility and is able to switch between ground and aerial attacks, with her primary weapon being a powerful sword guarded by Rue. She can also wield magical abilities, including being able to separate an enemy’s soul from its body that can be used against other foes or attacked directly.
