God Of War Ragnarok: Valhalla Roguelike Free DLC Revealed At The Game Awards, Arrives Next Week

God Of War Ragnarok is getting some free DLC revealed Thursday night during The Game Awards, with a new roguelike-inspired DLC titled Valhalla.

It’ll be available for players to download on PS5 and PS4 on December 12, 2023, just five days from its reveal.

There were rumblings that Sony Santa Monica was working on DLC for Ragnarok, so this announcement doesn’t come too out of the blue.

“Set after the decisive battle against Odin and Atreus’ departure, Kratos has seen a path for himself that he never thought possible before.” said Grace Orlady in a PlayStation Blog post.

“Brought to the mysterious shores of Valhalla accompanied only by Mimir, Kratos will enter its unknown depths to overcome trials within himself and face echoes of his past.”

You can check out the reveal trailer for Valhalla for yourself, below.

What is interesting though is that this makes two PlayStation Studios single-player games adding roguelike modes within the span of a month, since The Last Of Us Part II Remastered will add the No Return rougelike mode on release.

Rougelike’s are definitely very popular, but there’s also so many of them out there that are more than just a new mode added onto an already complete single-player title.

Still, it is cool to see these giant PlayStation titles slightly adapted in this way, bringing the combat in both games even more into the spotlight.
