Electronic Arts has sent out a press release today confirming that The Godfather II has officially gone gold, affirming the game’s North American and European release on April 7th and 10th, respectively.
The game was previously delayed in both territories having originally been pencilled in for release in February of this year, so it’s comforting to know it’ll meet its second scheduled release without any hitches.
In the end, this probably worked out best for EA, as an April release will give the title far less competition to deal with, which is the complete opposite of what a late February release would have offered. Going up against Killzone 2, MLB 09: The Show and Resident Evil 5 all within a 17 day period wouldn’t have been an easy feat.
Needless to say, we think EA played this one safely.
