Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has unveiled a fresh batch of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor screenshots for your viewing pleasure.
This latest bunch of images includes the appearance of a familiar face for Tolkien fans, namely the One Ring-loving Gollum, aka Smeagol. Check out a shot of him below, and then head over to our Shadow of Mordor gallery to view the full batch.
Based in the same universe as J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Shadow of Mordor takes place in the 60-year gap between The Hobbit and the aforementioned fantasy novels, with players controlling a ranger named Tailon.
The game’s main attraction is the revolutionary Nemesis system, which allows foes to remember your interactions with them and react accordingly when you cross paths again. For example, if you give one Orc a bit of a battering and flee, he’ll be baying for your blood next time around.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is due out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 in October.
