The PlayStation 4 version of the narrative-driven adventure Gone Home has been canned, developer Fullbright has sadly announced.
Steve Gaynor, the co-founder of the company, confirmed the unfortunate news to video game website DualShockers today, saying that the flagship downloadable title is ”not actively in development any longer”, due in-part to the developer’s partnership with publisher Majesco coming to an end.
Midnight City, a publishing subsidiary under the umbrella of Majesco was initially tasked with getting Gone Home onto consoles, but ran into difficulty late last year as Majesco warned investors that the company was in danger of folding due to sizable financial losses.
It’s a shame, too, as Gone Home currently sits at a healthy 86 on review aggregator Metacritic, having had resounding critical success upon its release on PC in 2013. Developer Fullbright’s attention now turns solely to Tacoma, a game we’ll likely see sometime in 2016.
