Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has announced a brand new spinoff in the Like A Dragon series starring Goro Majima, known as Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
The developer announced the game during a livestream today, confirming the project isn’t an RPG, but rather an action-adventure game that seemingly takes place after Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Speaking on the livestream, producer Ryosuke Horii commented:
This might look a little bit quirky at first look, but don’t worry, it will contain the hot drama and exhilarating action that’s typical in Yakuza games. There’s still a ton of unannounced information. For the first time, Goro Majima is the sole protagonist in this game. The battle design is very different. It’s fast-paced, and it has a lot of Majima’s uniqueness – that’s what we aimed for.
Players will be able to switch between two of Majiam’s fightings tales in the game — Mad Dog and Sea Dog. While the former is more in line with his Yakuza-based fisticuffs, Sea Dog is a new style that incorporates pirate-themed attacks such as dual-wield cutlasses and firearms.

Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii is scheduled for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on February 28, 2025.
