THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have super-glued a June 5, 2026 release date to the long-awaited Gothic Remake on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
The Gothic Remake is a faithful overhaul of the genre-defining open-world RPG that offers an organic world that dynamically reacts to your actions. Set in the Kingdom of Myrtana, which has been invaded by orcs, King Rhobar II looks to repel the threat by mining vast quantities of magical ore to forge powerful weapons; as such, every prisoner available is set to work at the Khoriinis mines.
In order to ensure no one is able to escape their duties, the King entrusts his most skilled mages to establish a magical barrier at the mines. However, the magic spirals out of control, trapping everyone inside; a rebellion soon kicks off among the prisoners, with the mine transformed into a lawless region ruled by the Colony’s most brutal inmates. In the midst of all this, a mysterious prisoner arrives who is destined to change everything.
Gothic Remake features over 50 hours of gameplay, as you explore the vast Colony discovering secrets, taking part in challenging combat, and meeting with a diverse range of NPCs. Along the way, you’ll get to grips with a modernised combat system and choose one of three factions to align with, thus influencing how your abilities develop throughout your journey.
THQ Nordic will publish Gothic Remake on June 5 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
