Sony announced today that Gran Turismo 5 has been delayed. Citing ‘production-related matters,’ as reported by Reuters, the highly popular racing sim has moved from a March release date in Japan, to a TBA release schedule.
The release date will be announced at a later time, and Sony has apologized for any trouble caused by the delay. Gamers have been teased by GT5 for about four years, with its inaugural announcement at E3 in 2006. The game is also said to have cost $60 million USD to make, leaving us believing GT5 should be the absolute best racing game on the market.
As for how the delay will impact the western release of GT5, there is no word at this time if it will be pushed back further than the already indefinite ‘summer 2010’ release schedule.
We’ll have more information as it becomes available.
