Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0 goes live, first DLC detailed

Gran Turismo 5’s much-anticipated Spec 2.0 update has now gone live, with developer Polyphony Digital also spilling the beans on the racer’s first batch of downloadable content.

Spec 2.0 itself clocks in at 1192MB, and brings with it a boatload of additions, including cockpit views for standard cars, a new intro sequence, enhanced online lounge, as well as the ability to save during endurance races.

As for the DLC, Polyphony confirmed that The Course Pack includes a Belgium-based Spa-Francorchamps that will be weather-customisable, in addition to a night-time kart track. The DLC will retail for $4.99.

The Racing Car Pack, meanwhile, throws in 15 vehicles such as the Red Bull X2011 Prototype ’11, which is currently up for grabs for one week as a free gift as a result of Sebastian Vettel nabbing his second Formula One world championship. It’ll set you back $7.99.

Also coming to GT5 is the Racing Gear Pack, which for $2.99 bags you new helmets and overalls, and the Paint Pack, which offers new colours for $1.99.

Alternatively, you can buy all DLC for $11.99. The goodies will be released on October 18.
