Polyphony Digital’s upcoming Gran Turismo 7 for PS4 and PS5 will require an internet connection for its single-player campaign.
Confirmation of this was featured at the very end of the Playstation Blog post detailing the racer following its release date announcement at the PlayStation Showcase, so it wasn’t immediately noticeable. Other modes in GT7 that require internet access are the Livery Editor, Scapes, GT Cafe, GT Auto, and High-Speed Ring and Trial Mountain Circuits.
Gran Turismo 7 is scheduled for release on PS4 and PS5 on March 4, 2022.
While the game is a cross-generation release, GT7 on PS5 will take full advantage of the console’s added technical muscle, running at 4K resolution and 60 FPS, with HDR also support. In addition, the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback is also supported alongside 3D audio and ray-tracing.
