UK PlayStation 3 sales rose by 14 per cent following the release of Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 5 Prologue last week, according to the latest Chart Track figures.
"PlayStation 3 sales went up by 14 per cent for week 13, after going up 73 per cent the week before. Xbox 360 sales were down by 11 per cent,” said Chart Track boss, Dorian Bloch.
As reported last week, the PS3 currently maintains a slight lead over the Xbox 360 in terms of weekly sales, despite Microsoft lowering the price of its system in recent weeks.
"PS3 is in the lead a bit right now but not by a huge amount,” added Bloch, noting that sales for the quarter as a whole were "up about 15 per cent year-on-year – the year so far is looking pretty good."
