Takau Imasaki, Producer at Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), has revealed that the online mode in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will eventually be updated to allow gamers to participate in private races and in-game voice conversations.
The game will launch with the ability to compete in online matches for up to 16 players, although for now at least, gamers will only be able to join Sony-created servers featuring pre-made scenarios.
However, Imasaki promised that more options would be added over time: "Private races with buddies and in-game chat are all in the works… but will not be ready from day one," he told the Official PlayStation Blog.
"Will keep you posted on the progress!"
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is due out in Europe on March 27, with a North American release following on April 17.
