Trade website MCV is reporting that Rockstar North’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto IV will miss its predicted March 2008 release in the UK, instead launching a month later on April 25, 2008.
According to the report, inside sources revealed to MCV that the title will be hitting UK retail stores at the tail end of April, putting it in the final week of Take-Two Interactive’s second financial quarter, which runs through February – April.
Rockstar, however, has stated it will not comment on ‘rumour and speculation’.
An industry source commented: “The last I heard about GTA IV’s release was a couple of months ago, when all the changes were taking place at Take 2’s UK offices. Since then, they’ve gone a bit quiet on what’s going on with GTA IV.”
“The way Take 2 work on GTA has always been very secretive. I’d expect some more concrete news from them two or three weeks before release.”
