North American retail giant GameStop doesn’t expect Grand Theft Auto V to hit stores in 2012, the company has said.
The eagerly-anticipated sandbox title was conspicuously absent from the retailer’s 2012 forecast, which included numerous heavy hitters such as Assassin’s Creed III, Halo 4 and Resident Evil 6.
"In terms of GTAV, we don’t have followed information that we can share at this point so we have not put that into our forecast. We would adjust our estimate if we had knowledge that GTA was coming out [in 2012]," GameStop boss Tony Bartel told investors this week.
Several analysts have predicted that GTA V will miss the lucrative holiday 2012 season in favour of an early 2013 launch.
