GTA V secures release in Australia

The Australian Classification Board has given the green light to Grand Theft Auto V’s release in the territory, awarding the Rockstar sequel an R18+ certificate.

The news comes in light of fellow open-world title Saints Row IV’s failure to secure a rating in Australia, even on its second attempt. GTA V, however, passed with flying colours on its first submission.

Unsurprisingly, the hotly-anticipated PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title was noted for its ‘strong impact’ in regards to Themes, Violence, Language, Nudity and Sex, and ‘high impact’ for use of Drugs.

GTA V is due out on September 17.
