Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will see the return of Guy Savage, the hidden mini-game that players can access while Naked Snake falls asleep after being captured and placed in a prison cell. What’s more, it’s been developed by stylish action maestros Platinum Games.
Officially known as Snake’s Nightmare, the game takes place from a third-person viewpoint and sees players hacking up demonic foes with hook-swords. The original version of this, which fans dubbed Guy Savage, was masterminded by Shuyo Murata, who was part of the original Kojima Production team and had contributed to numerous other entries in the stealth franchise.

In case you didn’t play the original version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Guy Savage was accessed by first saving the game in the prison cell after being captured. Upon loading your save file, you will be transported into the mini game, which serves as a ‘nightmare’ that Snake is having while asleep. He wakes up as the mini-game ends.
Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater is due out for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on August 28, 2025. You can read our full review here.
