Halo On PS5 Evidence Mounts As Dataminer Unearths Details On PS Store Backend

Fresh on the heels of reports that Halo: Combat Evolved is getting an overhaul once again for 2026 to mark Xbox’s 25th anniversary, a dataminer has unearthed new evidence that the franchise is on its way to PlayStation formats, possibly sooner than anticipated.

Posting on X, @grunt.api revealed that the PlayStation Store backend has been updated with references to a Halo title coming to Sony consoles (or console; we’re not sure if it’ll be PS4 & PS5 or just PS5 at this point). “I honestly didn’t expect to come across this today…But I can now OFFICIALLY CONFIRM: A Halo game is coming (very soon) to PlayStation. As of now, there’s no sign of a version of the Nintendo Switch (2).”

Microsoft hasn’t announced anything official about Halo coming to the PS5 yet, but as mentioned above, Halo: Combat Evolved is supposedly on its way to Sony’s system. Not only that, but earlier this year there were whispers about Halo: The Master Chief Collection is hitting PS5 at some point, so this listing may have something to do with either title.

It’s not too surprising to hear that Halo may be coming to Sony hardware, as Microsoft has brought a number of its biggest titles to the system, with both Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle now available on PS5. Beyond that, we have Gears of War Reloaded due out in August.
