Sega has announced Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live is coming to the Americas and Europe and the PlayStation VR-exclusive will be available as a digital-only app on October 14, 2016, one day after the launch of Sony’s headset. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live puts you in the middle of a virtual Hatsune Miku concert, where your controller turns into an in-game glowstick to cheer on the Digital Diva. It will most likely be similar to the the Hatsune Miku PlayStation VR tech demo shown at events like E3 and seen in PlayStation Japan’s sizzle reels (where the gif below is captured from).
VR Future Live is separate and completely different from the PlayStation VR support in the upcoming Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X rhythm game.

Exclusive to PlayStation VR, the Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live bridges the gap between the physical world we live in and the digital world of Hatsune Miku in a completely immersive way. Leave the living room behind (figuratively speaking), as it transports players to a virtual stadium, fully immersing them in the crowd of Miku fans and going wild for the digital singer. As the lights dim and Miku gets ready to take the stage, the player’s controller transforms into a glow stick. When the show begins, players can keep time with the song by taking cues from the rest of the crowd waving their glow sticks, with the goal of cheering on Miku during the concert. As players encourage her, it builds up the voltage. Once the voltage reaches its climax, players will find themselves transported on stage for a special one-on-one encore performance with Miku!
Bandai Namco is also releasing its own virtual concert experience based on The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls franchise, but has yet to be confirmed for the West.
