Bitmap Bureau’s excellent-looking He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction has been delayed to early 2027. The game was originally planned to arrive in April 2026 before being pushed to this summer, but unfortunately it’s now been booted out of 2026 entirely.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction is based on the much-loved cartoon series from the 1980s, and uses highly-detailed pixel-art sprites and vibrant locations to bring to life the retro aesthetic and feel of the show. Players will be able to hop into the role of numerous iconic characters, including He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Teela, and She-Ra, with unique abilities included for each hero. Meanwhile, feline companion Battle Cat is on hand to claw his way through Skeletor’s flunkies — it wouldn’t be Masters of the Universe without him!
Players will battle through 13 action-packed stages featuring a number of diverse locations across Eternia, including the Royal Palace, the Vine jungle, and the corridors of Snake Mountain. You can also team up with a friend in two-player local co-op while fending off legions of foes that include Evil-Lyn, Beast Man, Trap Jaw, and evil mastermind Skeletor himself.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction is due out in early 2027.
