Helghast flood Killzone Facebook page ahead of E3

The official Facebook page for Guerilla Games’ Killzone franchise has witnessed an invasion of Helghast ahead of E3 next week.

The revamp will, inevitably, lead to some speculation that the Amsterdam-based developer is set to unveil a new entry in the popular science-fiction shooter franchise.

However, according to rumors over the past 18 months or so, Guerrilla has been busy chiseling away on a brand new IP for the PlayStation 4.

Nonetheless, it is possible that Guerrilla Cambridge, the U.K. offshoot of the company who worked on Killzone: Mercenary for PlayStation Vita, could be developing a new game in the series.

Guerrilla’s new game is rumored to be titled Horizon, and supposedly takes the form of a science-fiction title with microtransactions. Could the company be prepping an E3 reveal? We’ll have to wait and see. Regardless, rumors point to a 2016 launch for the project.

Oh, and since we’re on the subject of E3, it’s been ten years since that infamous Killzone 2 trailer debuted during Sony’s E3 2005 showcase. Doesn’t time fly?
