Anytime Hello Games does something new it gets our attention – and that is very much the case with its latest PS4 title, The Last Campfire. A world away from the universe spanning, interstellar shenanigans of No Man’s Sky, The Last Campfire is a much more smaller scoped PS4 game from Hello Games that focuses on a lost ember (that’s you, by the way) that is attempting to find its way home after being stuck on a puzzling island.
Blending together third-person exploration, puzzle solving and a truckload of whimsy, The Last Campfire is already shaping up to be something special indeed. Additionally, it’s also worth mentioning that Hello Games next title has been developed by some folks that worked on the PC and Wiiware Lost Winds titles – from which the game would, aesthetically at least, seem to owe a decent sized debt.
Despite working on The Last Campfire, Hello Games remains very much committed to No Man’s Sky in case you were wondering, with the latest update for that game bringing pilotable mechs for the first time.
