Here They Lie confirmed for PS VR launch

According to a listing on the U.S. PlayStation Store, Here They Lie, the upcoming PlayStation VR horror title from Tangentlemen, will be released on October 13, 2016, putting it out alongside Sony’s virtual reality headset on launch day.

The game was previously listed down for a fall 2016 release. Here They Lie was announced at E3 2016, and aside from Tangentlemen’s involvement is also being developed by SIE Santa Monica Studio.

Here They Lie takes place in a surreal world populated by horrific and malevolent creatures, and is described as a psychological horror experience, giving us the impression it’ll have more in common with the likes of Silent Hill as opposed to, say, Resident Evil.

The game will place emphasis on narrative and the sense of dread, and promises to be something quite different to your typical survival horror title.

PS VR release date confirmed at E3 2016

Sony confirmed during its E3 2016 presentation—which, as you recall, was essentially a blitzkrieg of major game reveals—that PS VR will launch in the U.S., Europe, and Japan in mid-October.

As previously reported, the device will retail for $399.99/£349.99 and Sony hopes to have around 50 games out by the end of the year. It’ll also include a cinematic mode allowing for a virtual screen of up to 226 inches.

Sony announced last week that all PS VR games will function with a standard PS4, so you won’t need to fork out for the upcoming PS4 Neo to play certain titles. The format holder also revealed how much space you’ll need to enjoy the device, so check out our previous story to find out more.

DriveClub VR will also be joining the PS VR launch lineup, albeit in Japan, although we expect to hear something on a western release soon enough.
