Former Platinum Games developer Hideki Kamiya has said he’s eager to get back to making video games so he can grab himself a meal.
Kamiya-san was speaking to Famitsu magazine as part of a segment discussing what hopes game developers have for 2024, to which he commented, “I want to get a job making games so that I can have a meal.”
The ex-Capcom developer has a history for making flippant comments and isn’t afraid to make his opinions known on social media, often banning folk for asking what he perceives as stupid or pointless questions. Kamiya-san recently departed Platinum Games, later explaining that her left because “I felt the direction the company was heading in was different from my beliefs as a developer.”
Kamiya previously directed a number of major title at Capcom including Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry, before co-founding Platinum Games in 2006, where he went on to work on the likes of Bayonetta and The Wonderful 101.
